Tiny Alfie could barely hold onto the tree branch.

His little hands trembled as the wind moved through the forest, and his eyes looked heavy with exhaustion. While the other young monkeys leaped from branch to branch with endless energy, Alfie stayed curled quietly against his mother’s chest.

The baby monkey had been weak for days.

Wildlife rescuers who observed the troop noticed that Alfie rarely played or wandered far from his mother. He seemed smaller than the others his age, moving slowly and struggling to keep up whenever the group traveled deeper into the jungle.

Days later, rescuers returned with fresh fruit and clean water placed safely near the troop’s resting area. Slowly, Alfie began showing signs of strength. His movements became steadier. His eyes brighter. One morning, he finally climbed a short branch completely on his own.

His mother stayed beside him the entire time.

When Alfie reached the top, she gently touched his head as if she understood exactly how hard he had fought to get there.
