๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ทโœˆ๏ธ Trump backtracks, announcing a pause in attacks on Iran
A few days ago, White House Chief of Staff Donald Trump claimed that he would soon start a new war with Iran because the Islamic Republic was stubbornly refusing to come to the negotiating table to sign a peace agreement.
However, now the US leader has changed his mind, announcing that he will stop the attacks.
According to the plan, the US will start a new war with Tehran on Tuesday, but Trump claims that he decided to postpone it because the Gulf states asked him not to start the operation.
In a post on Truth Social on Monday, May 18, 2026, the US leader wrote: โ€œI have been asked by His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani of Qatar, His Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud of Saudi Arabia, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, to temporarily suspend our planned military strike on the Islamic Republic of Iran, which is scheduled to take place tomorrow, as many smooth negotiations are currently taking place.โ€
Trump continued: โ€œA deal will be made, an agreement that is acceptable to the United States, as well as to all countries in the Middle East and beyond. This agreement will include one important point: absolutely no nuclear weapons for Iran!โ€
However, in the message, the US president also threatened that Washington is ready to launch a full-scale attack on Iran immediately, without prior notice, if a deal cannot be made.
